Trail mix might be the most adaptable culinary idea out there. You can add or subtract ingredients on a whim, eat it in a loose handful or pack it into a convenient bar, make it in mere minutes or take your time with preparation. It tastes like a treat but it can be a nutritious snack. Cookie and cracker pieces often find their way into trail mix, integrating that distinct goodness into every bite.

Trail Mix Bars Recipe


  • 9 HONEY MAID Cinnamon Grahams, coarsely crushed
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 Tbsp. water


  • Line  9-inch square dish with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides; spray with cooking spray. Combine graham crumbs, oats, nuts, raisins, coconut and chocolate chunks in large bowl.
  • Microwave  peanut butter in small microwaveable bowl on HIGH 15 to 30 sec. or until melted; stir in honey and water. Add to crumb mixture; mix well. Press onto bottom of prepared dish.
  • Refrigerate  1 hour or until firm. Use foil handles to remove dessert from dish before cutting into bars.

SubstitutePrepare using chopped pecans and/or crunchy peanut butter, cashew butter or almond butter.

How to StoreThese delicious bars can be stored in airtight container in refrigerator up to 3 days before serving.

VariationPrepare using your favorite combination of chopped nuts, such as pistachios, pumpkin seeds, pecans or macadamia nuts; and dried fruit, such as cranberries, cherries, blueberries, chopped mangos or chopped pineapple.
